It’s hard to believe that it has been 18 months since the Travis Perkins Group fully acquired Staircraft in October 2021 to build our capability in modern methods of construction by adding digital component design, timber engineering and production. Since the acquisition we have been developing exciting plans, to enable us to grow the business quickly and allow more of our customers to benefit from the unique products that Staircraft offers. 

As from 1st May 2023 Dan Lowans will move from his current role as Managing Director of Hire in the Travis Perkins General Merchant business, to take up the role of Managing Director of Staircraft.  

Dan has been with the TP Group for 12 years and has held senior commercial and operational roles in that time, including responsibility for TP’s international operation in Shanghai and then latterly as Commercial Director and Managing Director of Hire in the Travis Perkins business. Dan’s appointment to this role is due to his strong knowledge of the timber sector and extensive experience in leading complex, customer-centric teams and working with third party manufacturing businesses. 

Dan will lead the Staircraft team into this exciting next phase, in which further growth will be facilitated by opening a new production facility near Coventry to increase manufacturing space by more than one third and build on our three existing facilities across the West Midlands. This expansion in capacity will enable an increased level of collaboration between Staircraft and the rest of the Group. 

Andy will remain with the business as Founder, supporting Dan and project leading the current expansion plans.
